It's doggie day!!!

Today has been another crazy day. Missy and I went to Park Plaza with Honey and Jewell (our dogs) this morning and the tenants really enjoyed seeing them. There was this one man that really enjoyed Honey. Missy took Honey's cart (Richard made her a little cart that she pulls behind her) off and what did Honey do? Jumped right up in the bed with him and stayed. It was really cute, the little man was so excited that they came to see him. When it was time to go to another room Missy had fun trying to get Honey off the bed. That really did make him happy and made him feel so good.

Before that I was holding Jewell and a lady saw us and fell in love with Jewell. (She was there to see her mother). When she saw Jewell she wanted to take pictures of her and then when she saw Honey pulling the little cart with Jewell laying in it that really did catch some attention.

When they brought her mother out of her room, she fell in love with Jewell. The first thing her daughter did was take a picture of Jewell and her mother. Her mother really enjoyed Honey and Jewell coming to see her (Missy and I are part of the SPCA, Society of Prevention of Cruelity to Animals and take Honey and Jewell to different nursing homes on Saturday). When it was time to leave the daughter walked out the door with me and was talking so fast it was hard to get a word in. Honey and Jewell are really tierd when they get home from the nursing home trip. All they want to do the rest of the day is sleep. The excitement the tenants show when they see the dogs really does make a person feel good. When hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans a little man was sent up to one of the nursing homes. That Saturday we went to two different nursing homes (one was right behind the other-Missy was at one and I was at the other) . Missy walked over to the place where I was and told me that there was a man from hurricane Katrina here and wanted to see Jewell. Missy and I became special friends with him and would take Jewell and Honey to see him, and one night we spoke with the nurses at the nursing home about taking him out to eat. That there was something really special, we all really had fun and a nice night. Right before he went home we dressed Jewell and Honey up and went up to see him (he didn't know we were coming). The nurses got him up out of bed and brought him into the front living area and when he saw us come in the door he got so excited and had a smile on his face and was so excited one will never forget. We got some pictures of him with Jewell and Honey all dressed up (Honey had one of Missy' s Easter dresses on and Jewell was dressed up in her wedding dress). We found out later that he was a pastor of one of the churches there in New Orleans. When we found that out (Honey was dressed up in Missy's Easter dress and Jewell was in her wedding dress), we told Richard that he married Jewell and Honey was her maid of honor. It makes a person feel so good to see all the smiles and excitement the tenants have when they see the dogs.

Missy and I both really enjoy taking Honey and Jewell to the nursing homes and seeing the smiles and excitement the residents show is so rewarding.
